I studied at the University of Manchester in the 1980's and went on to work in finance and investments for many years.
After quite a prolonged illness I took up painting again and realised I should have done this all along.
I live in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District and am inspired in all my painting by the wonderful landscapes around me. I work mainly in acrylics and oils, occasionally in watercolour and am developing some new works using polymers.
A large square contemporary abstract work in acrylic, created using liquid polymer and acrylic paint on a box canvas. The scene seems evocative of the ancient orchards found in Provence in Southern France.
An impression of an early morning horse ride in winter with the steam coming off both horse and rider.Charcoal over gesso. Ref unknown. The picture measures 16" x 12" and total measurements given include mount and frame.
Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester at night, in the run-up to Christmas. Painted from my own references last year on a visit to the Christmas markets. Acrylic on canvas with painted edges so a framing is a matter of choice.
